Founded in 2018, the Charlotte Re-Entry Initiative (CRI) began as a volunteer-driven, faith-based project focused on supporting individuals transitioning from incarceration at the Charlotte County Jail. Since then, CRI has grown to offer programs at both the Charlotte County Jail and the Charlotte Correctional Institution (State Prison),

Since then, CRI has grown to offer programs at both the Charlotte County Jail and the Charlotte Correctional Institution (State Prison), as well as community mentoring for ex-offenders, recovering addicts, and individuals experiencing homelessness.
